When it comes to picking out my #OOTD (outfit of the day), comfort has become one of my top priorities. As a college student, I aim to wear pieces that look and feel good. But as a college student, I need for my outfits to have the functionality to withstand short naps in the library (or any place you can squeeze in a little sleep), a daily commute, and the obnoxiously long walk from class back to the parking lot.
I also lean toward breathable fabrics, like linen, to stay cool and comfy in the hot SoCal weather. Cotton or jersey are alternative fabrics that feel great on the body as well and feel just like lounge-wear. For footwear, I gravitate toward sneakers for a city look or even boots with a low heel for a more uptown look. Being comfortable doesn’t mean the visual aesthetics of an outfit have to disappear. Mix your comfort needs and personal style and get outfits that you can relax and feel confident in. Need ideas? Take a look at the sample sets I’ve created below.
