Reimagine Sequins for the Holidays

Tis the season for holiday parties and what better way to feel festive than sequins. All sequin dresses can be a little daunting for some, but these dresses are a great piece of clothing to have in your closet. You can highlight the bold fabric with different textures like a fur jacket or even softened up the outfit with a moto jacket or a solid colored cardigan.

Whether it be for a Christmas party or a New Years Eve gathering, try out a sequin dress and be ready to feel super glammed up. Need a little bit of holiday outfit inspiration? Take a look at the outfit sets below that I’ve created.

Revamp Your Outfits With A Statement Necklace

I’ve always been a fan of accessorizing my outfits. I love delicate necklaces and dainty rings, but sometimes I like to grab more edgy accessories to revamp my look.

My current obsession is a chunky cluster necklace from Target (on sale for $8!). This necklace is almost identical to the sold out Zara Stones and Flowers necklace.

The crystal flowers and chandelier pieces are translucent, so you won’t have to worry about clashing with silver or gold accessories. Not only is this necklace a bold statement piece, but Jenn Im of ClothesEncounters also rocked a similar necklace in her Edgy Fall Outfits video (for all you Jenn fans out there).

Relax: Comfy Outfit Ideas

When it comes to picking out my #OOTD (outfit of the day), comfort has become one of my top priorities. As a college student, I aim to wear pieces that look and feel good. But as a college student, I need for my outfits to have the functionality to withstand short naps in the library (or any place you can squeeze in a little sleep), a daily commute, and the obnoxiously long walk from class back to the parking lot.

I also lean toward breathable fabrics, like linen, to stay cool and comfy in the hot SoCal weather. Cotton or jersey are alternative fabrics that feel great on the body as well and feel just like lounge-wear. For footwear, I gravitate toward sneakers for a city look or even boots with a low heel for a more uptown look. Being comfortable doesn’t mean the visual aesthetics of an outfit have to disappear. Mix your comfort needs and personal style and get outfits that you can relax and feel confident in. Need ideas?
